Privacy Policy
Effective date: TODO. This policy is a draft pending legal review.
Who we are
HealKite is an online platform that connects you with registered medical practitioners for video consultations, helps you obtain a valid e-prescription where appropriate, and lets you order medicines. This policy explains how we handle your information. The platform is operated by HealKite (TODO: registered legal entity and address).
HealKite facilitates consultations; it does not itself practise medicine. Your care is provided by the independent registered doctor you consult.
Information we collect
Information you provide: your name, phone number, email, age, gender and, for family members you add, their basic details; the reason for your consultation and any symptoms, history, photos or reports you choose to share.
Health information: consultation notes, prescriptions and records generated during your care. This is sensitive personal data and is treated with heightened protection.
Transaction information: consultation and order history. Payments are handled by our payment partners; we do not store full card details.
Technical information: device type, app version, IP address, diagnostic logs and, where you allow it, push-notification tokens, needed to run the service securely and deliver calls.
How we use your information
- To connect you with a doctor and run your video consultation.
- To enable a valid e-prescription and, if you choose, medicine ordering and delivery.
- To maintain your health records for continuity of care.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service and provide support.
- To meet legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health data for advertising.
Legal basis and consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent and to provide the service you request, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. You can withdraw consent for optional processing at any time; some data must be retained to provide care and to meet legal obligations.
How we share information
We share your information only as needed to provide the service: with the doctor you consult; with the pharmacy fulfilling a medicine order you place; and with service providers who help us run the platform (secure hosting, the video calling provider, notification and payment partners) under confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety. We do not sell your personal information.
Consultation confidentiality
Consultations take place over a private video call between you and the doctor. Health information you share is confidential and used only to provide your care, in keeping with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020.
Data security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
Data retention
We keep consultation records and prescriptions for as long as needed to provide continuity of care and to meet legal and regulatory requirements, after which we delete or anonymise them. Other data is kept only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected.
Your rights
Subject to law and ongoing care needs, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent for optional processing. You may also nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Children
The service is intended for adults. A consultation for a minor must be requested and supervised by a parent or legal guardian, consistent with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020.
Cookies and analytics (website)
On our website we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language, and, where enabled, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. These are not used to identify you personally.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
